Every customer quote consists of quality control test time. Simplex will not release a finished product to a customer without a complete and documented quality control test. A portion of our quality control test includes:
- Confirm all components are in accordance with the bill of materials
- A loose/stray strand and torque check at all wiring connection points
- Review of and adherence to manufacturer torque specifications for every component; use of calibrated torque wrenches to assure compliance
- All devices and wires properly labeled
- All wires properly sized for current draw of a component
- All grounds installed and secure
- Full voltage test of all circuits up to and including 480VAC and 125VDC
- All fuses installed
- All circuits provide desired functional operation based on drawings
- Document all found issues, the corrective action and resolution
- Full computer-driven configuration and network communications test of PLC hardware
- Air pressure testing for pneumatics
- Take and store digital pictures of every panel
- Complete and file a comprehensive test report in the job file
The thoroughness of our quality control test enables Simplex to eliminate problems so installers and other field personnel can get their job done easier and faster. Damaged or non-operative components, including PLC components, are identified and replaced before being deployed to the field.
Simplex considers the quality control function so important, the Head of QC reports directly to our President/Owner. This function is invested with independent authority to assure the quality of all Simplex customer deliverables.
